The next-large scale protest in central Chisinau will take place on October 4. The leaders of the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” made this announcement in a news conference on September 23. Protesters’ leaders also made public the agenda for the next few days, IPN reports.
“Following the protests mounted in the country’s settlements, the Council of the Great National Assembly, after considering the people’s requests, decided to stage a new protest on October 4, at 12 noon, so as to seek the satisfaction of the demands provided in the Proclamation of the Great National Assembly of September 6,” said the Council’s head Andrei Nastase.
Furthermore, the Council repeated asked calling a joint meeting of the Government and Parliament, including on October 4, requesting that this meeting be attended by members of the Council.
Protesters’ leaders said they intend to extend the Town of Dignity, which was set up in the Great National Assembly Square, and will pitch tents also in front of the main state institutions, including the Parliament Building. On September 23, at 3pm, five members of the Council and of the intermediation group will have a meeting with the head of the Council of Europe Office in Moldova.
The leaders of the Platform “Dignity and Truth” called on the people to join the protests, assuring that they have no connection with political organizations.
