Plaque commemorating literary critic Vasile Coroban to be set up in Chisinau
The Government approved the placement of a commemorative plaque in memory of Vasile Coroban on the facade of the building situated at 6/2 Academiei St in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Literary critic and historian Vasile Coroban was born in 1910. He taught literature at the State University and worked as a scientific researcher at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
He wrote numerous studies and scientific articles, including “Vasile Alecsandri, Life and Work”, “Contemporary Moldovan Novel”, “Mihai Eminescu's Work in Schools”, “Dimitrie Cantemir, Humanist Writer”, and “Chronicler Ion Neculce”.
The literary critic passed away in 1984.
The execution of the commemorative plaque will be coordinated by the Ministry of Culture, while the costs will be covered with money from Chisinau's budget.
