Plane trees are being planted along Dacia Blvd in Botanica district of Chisinau. The municipality said that besides their landscape features, these trees are long-living and their wood is resistant to strong winds and tempests, IPN reports.

“Dacia Blvd in Chisinau will have a different appearance. About 100 plane trees have been planted as part of the tree planting campaign launched last weekend,” said mayor Ion Ceban.

The municipal authorities on November 12 launched a tree planting campaign in the municipality of Chisinau, with about 17,000 trees and bushes being planted on the first day of this event. Saplings this week will be distributed to schools and kindergartens, primarily those where thunderstorms downed trees. Approximately 60,000 saplings are to be planted during the campaign in total.
