The Ministry of Culture approved the plan of action on the celebration of the Independence Day (August 27) and the Language Day (August 31). The celebrations will start on August 23 with the opening of an exhibition by craftsmen titled “We render homage to motherland by creation”, at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History, IPN reports.
On August 26, there will be staged a cultural-educative program for children from Chisinau boarding schools at the National Museum of History. The same day, the National Palace “Nicolae Sulac” will host a festive meeting and a festive concert dedicated to the 22nd anniversary of the proclamation of Moldova’s independence.
On August 27, the festive program dedicated to the Independence Day will start at 9.00 with laying of flowers at the monument to Stephan the Great.
At 09.15, a musical-choreographic performance will start in the Great National Assembly Square. It will involve the brass band “Bunika & Bunelul” and people’s dances groups.
The holiday will be opened officially at 09.30. At 10.00, thecfolk music orchestra “Lautarii” will give a concert. The folklore performance “Rose of Moldova” will start at 11.00. It will last until 17.00, when another concert will begin, given by the band “Milenium”. The band “Trigon” and actors of the national theaters will give a performance at 17.50.
At 18.30, laureates of the festival “Drum Day” will give an entertaining concert. At 19.30, members of the Writers Union of Moldova and folk singers will stage a literary soirée.
A performance of music and poetry titled “Eterna” will start at 20.30, while a concert by orchestras, pop singers and the choir Jazz will perform songs from the repertoire of Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodorovici at 21.55.
A firework display will start at 22.00. It will be followed by a concert titled “The Nation’s Round Dance”. A concert by pop music singers and orchestras and show-ballet groups will start at 22.30.
On August 31, there will be mounted a contest arts exhibition at the exhibitions center “Constantin Brancusi”. The National Library of Moldova will host the 22nd edition of the International Book Show. The award gala of the National Dramaturgy Contest will take place at “Eugene Ionesco” Theater.
