The Government approved a plan of events to mark the Day of Remembering the Nistru War on March 2, IPN reports.
The program will start with a Memorial March, a flower-laying ceremony and a commemorative rally at the Eternity Memorial Complex. At the same time, meetings with war veterans will be organized in educational institutions and military units across the country. Heroes fallen on the battlefield will be remembered through exhibitions, thematic TV and radio shows, and sports competitions. It is planned to install commemorative plaques in several localities, as well as rename some streets in memory of the fallen heroes.
It is also planned to provide annual material benefits to families of fallen soldiers and to the war-disabled.
This year marks the 27th anniversary of the start of the armed conflict on the Nistru River, also known as the war for Moldova’s independence and territorial integrity.
