The former leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova, Vlad Plahotniuc, is wanted internationally. Interpol has accepted Moldova's request. The warrant for the arrest of Vladimir Plahotniuc is visible in the Interpol database in 196 countries that are members of this organization. The head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office, Veronica Dragalin, told IPN.
The Commission for Control of Files decided at its session of January 27-31 this year, based on the information gathered in the file ,,INTERPOL" by the Prosecutor's Office of Anticorruption, to review the decision of July 2020, which blocked the Republic of Moldova's request for a wanted person wanted.
At the same time, the General Inspectorate of Police informs that on February 6, this year, the Interpol's Commission for the Control of Interpol's Files notified the International Police Cooperation Directorate of the General Inspectorate of Police of "accepting the request for an international wanted person wanted for a former leader of a political party, stating that the person meets the conditions imposed by the Commission on data processing, and the request will be visible to all member countries of the Interpol ICPO, following the appeal filed by the International Police Cooperation Directorate of the General Inspectorate of Police and the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office in November 2024".
Thus, as of February 7, the international wanted for arrest and extradition for Vlad Plahotniuc became visible to all member states of the international organization for police cooperation.
