Placement of new kiosks in Chisinau not allowed
The Chisinau City Hall banned the location of new kiosks in the capital city. An order to this effect was signed by Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The mayor said after an ordinance to suspend the examination of applications for authorizations allowing running kiosks was issued in November 2009, the kiosks started to appear on the weekend, at night and during public holidays. Some of them occupy an area of 40-100 square meters and will be removed.
Dorin Chirtoaca instructed the Municipal Police head Silviu Musuc to examine the stands that remained in the Cathedral's Park after the winter holidays and take them away.
According to the City Hall, there are more than 4,000 kiosks in Chisinau at present.
