Placement center “Patria-Lukoil” receives humanitarian aid from Germany

The municipal refugee placement center “Patria-Lukoil” was offered humanitarian aid by the German city Mannheim and the local mayor’s office. The about 14 tonnes of clothing, blankets, sleeping bags and coverlets to the value of €34,700 were donated for Ukrainian refugees and those who ask for parcels from the storehouse of the former Patria – Lukoil Cinema, IPN reports.

According to mayor general Ion Ceban, the donation was made as a result of a visit paid by a delegation from Chisinau to Mannheim this May, when bilateral meetings were held with German counterparts. The meetings centered on the development of bilateral relations and plans for the future and on the management of the crisis of Ukrainian refugees who are accommodated at the municipal refugee center located at 7/5 Studenţilor St.

Also, a delegation from Mannheim visited the Center Patria-Lukoil to see the services available there and what the refugees need urgently. As a result, the twinned city Mannheim offered support for the refugees sheltered at the center managed by the Chisinau City Hall, noted the mayor.

Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, the Mannheim mayor’s office has made donations for managing the refugee crises to the value of over €250,000. It donated domestic appliances, hygiene products and food products.
