The chairman of the Liberal Party (PL) Mihai Ghimpu announced that he withdraws his signature from the agreement of cooperation with the European People’s Party of Moldova (PPEM), which was signed on July 29, 2016 by the parliamentary alliance, IPN reports.
In a press release, the PL says the fact that Iurie Leanca went to Brussels, Bucharest and Sofia where he spoke about the European integration, while in Chisinau he formed an alliance with pro-Russian parties, which are anti-national and anti-European, is condemnable. ”The PPEM hasn’t yet announced its withdrawal from the tacit alliance that it formed with the PSRM, PPPN and PCRM on the Chisinau Municipal Council,” reads the press release.
As a result of this agreement, Iurie Leanca was appointed as chairman of the Parliamentary Council for European Integration. The sides, the PPEM and the ruling alliance, unconditionally pledged to take and support actions to ensure the implementation of the Moldova - EU Association Agreement at national and foreign levels.
