PL to decide fate of Iurie Nastas

The Liberal Party (PL) will decide whether Iurie Nastas will remain councilor of the Liberal faction in the Chisinau Municipal Council or not. Such a decision was taken after it became known that the councilor took part in the fatal hunting in the Domneasca Forest. Related statements were made by Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca, who is the first deputy chairman of the PL, in the February 5 hearing staged by the parliamentary commission of inquiry into the hunting incident, Info-Prim Neo reports. Dorin Chirtoaca said he found out about this case from the media on January 6. On January 15, he phones Ion Lupu, who was then director of “Moldsilva”, from whom he found out that the hunting involved Liberal councilor Iurie Nastas. He also called Iurie Nastas and asked him if it was true. The councilor told him he didn’t inform the administration of the PL because he took part in the hunting as an ordinary citizen, not as a councilor representing the PL. “However, he should have informed us,” said the mayor. Asked by the Liberal MP Valeriu Munteanu, who is a member of the commission of inquiry, if it’s true that the hunting involved MPs and ministers, Dorin Chirtoaca said that he doesn’t know, but may find out as the Guard Service, the Funeral Service and other participants in the burial can have videos. The February 5 hearing is open to the press. The decision to allow the press to attend was taken by a unanimous vote, at the proposal of the commission’s chairman Anatolie Zagorodnyi.
