The candidates for mayor of Chisinau who represents the Liberal Party (PL), the National Liberal Party (PNL) and the National Unity Party (PUN) promise to radically change the capital city if they are elected. The reformation of education, ensuring of street lighting and laying out of green areas are only some of the electoral promises formulated in the debates staged by ProTV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.
PNL candidate Alexandra Can said she is in good form and has sufficient experience to start to bring things in the municipality in order during the one-year mayoralty, if she is elected to the post. “I know how to build that system where no one steals and takes bribe and where the public funds are managed correctly,” she stated.
PUN candidate Constantin Codreanu noted time has come for the municipality of Chisinau to be radically transformed. His experience in brining funds from Romania and other European states to Moldova’s districts is the thing that differentiates him from the other candidates. “I will do the same in the municipality of Chisinau – Romanian investments, European order and civilized behavior and narrative,” he said.
The Liberal candidate Valeriu Munteanu stated it is the duty of each resident of Chisinau to go and vote on May 20 so as not to allow the Dodon-Plahotniuc duo to take control of the capital city. He will lay emphasis on education during his term, if he is elected mayor.
