The Liberal Party (PL) issues a statement in support of the teachers, accusing the Ministry of Education of being unable to optimize the costs and implement a relevant strategy.
According to the statement, Minister of Education Maia Sandu rejects any request to have a dialogue with the teachers, prejudicing the dignity of teachers and attributing them the image of a caste of poor people.
The Liberals call on the Government to devote special attention to the teachers. According to them, the correct re-planning of the education budget for 2014 will enable to raise teachers’ salaries by at least 50%.
Earlier, the education trade unions warned the authorities that the teachers will go on a general strike before the graduation and Baccalaureate exams if their pays are not increased by 50%.
