The pipe that carries water to the communities situated along the Vadul lui Voda road to Chisinau was repaired and the consumers were connected to drinking water supply services. The accident occurred near the Tohatin Pumping Station on February 14, IPN reports, quoting a press release of “Apa-Canal Chisinau”.

According to the supplier, the water main with the diameter of 800 mm yielded owing to the high degree of wear and tear. It was hard to localize the leak and the consumers from Cruzesti, Budesti and Vaduleni had to be disconnected. To hasten the repair, they worked at night and the damaged section of pipe was replaced towards morning.

Owing to the difficulty degree, not all the leaks can be dealt with the same day. The fact that some of the accidents are fixed during a longer period of time does not mean that the specialists neglect their duties. During the last few years, “Apa-Canal Chisinau” managed to reduce the water losses by almost 20%. This is due to investments in the rehabilitation of pipes made by the municipality and the supplier.

On February 15, the company’s specialists were to deal with 31 accidents in water pipes on a number of streets in Chisinau. In connection with works to replace hydrants, there were planned four stops and two disconnections from pipes with the diameter of D-500 mm.
