The construction of a new football field near the University of Physical Education and Sport in Chisinau is hindered by a pipe going through the pitch, Info-Prim Neo reports. The University's administration started the works several years ago, but they cannot go on owing to the pipe. Rector Veaceslav Manolachi told Info-Prim Neo that the field will be ready this year if the Chisinau City Hall takes steps to relocate the pipe. The construction works are financed by the University. The Moldovan Football Federation will provide the artificial lawn. “We have signed no document yet. We expect the pipe to be moved to a a new place. We will supply only the artificial lawn. It will be laid within two weeks after the stands are set up and everything is ready,” the Federation's president Pavel Cebanu stated for the Agency. Veaceslav Manolachi said an estimated 3 million lei is needed to relocate the pipe.
