Hundreds of consumers in Chisinau’s Botanica district on Friday morning were left without heat due to a breakdown in the district heating system. Olga Alergus, spokesperson for the heat provider Termocom, told Info-Prim Neo that the breakdown was caused by a pipe rupture which was detected earlier, but which couldn’t be handled because of the low outdoor temperatures. According to Alergus, 136 residential blocks, 8 schools, 7 kindergartens and two medical institutions, all serviced by the combined heat and power plant CET-1, were disconnected from the heating system. Repair works are expected to complete by Friday evening, 5:00 PM. The heat supplier promises that tomorrow radiators in apartments will warm up again.
