The pigeon hunting season this year opens on August 20 and closes on November 13. All the pigeons can be hunted, except for hollow pigeons. The hunting of ducks, bald coots and grouses will be allowed from August 20 until December 31. The decision on the regulation of hunting in the 2011- 2012 season was approved by the Government on July 20, Info-Prim Neo reports. The hunting of geese, except red-necked geese, will be possible between October 1 and January 15, of rabbits – between December 4 and January 15, while of boars – between November 20 and December 31. The hunting of such species of animals as spotted deer, moose, and roe deer and of partridges is banned. Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov asked reviewing the period allowed for hunting boars. According to him, farmers in Causeni district informed that the wild boars seriously damage the fields. Similar reports came from other districts.
