Piano recital given on platform of Chișinău railway terminal

Composer Eugen Doga on September 14 held a piano recital on the platform of the railway terminal in Chișinău. The master played several of his most famous melodies, delighting the public, IPN reports. “The place for such a recital was perfect. The railway station is a gate to the people. I’m glad I have the occasion of being here,” stated Eugen Doga, noting he has never played at a railway station.

Performances were later given by children of the Railway Workers’ Palace of Culture, who sang and danced by the famous song “Maria-Mirabela” written by Eugen Doga, on the verses of Grigore Vieru.

“It is not the easiest song, but it was sung perfectly by these wonderful children. I hope they will become an example for the others. They warbled so nicely! I think in time they will turn into nightingales that will conquer meridians, possibly with the assistance of the Railways,” stated Eugen Doga.

Director general of the state-run company “Moldova’s Railways” Iurii Topala thanked the composer for his openness and cooperation. “The master allowed our company to play his melodies in the railway stations and trains in the country so that we could delight our travelers,” he stated.

In 2018, Eugen Doga gained the right to travel free by the train on any of the routes of “Moldova’s Railways”.
