Photovoltaic solar energy produced at Professional School No. 4 in Balti

The Professional School No. 4 in Balti municipality will benefit from photovoltaic solar energy following the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, the education institution and the Liechtenstein Development Service, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Ministry.

The electric power produced by the photovoltaic system will be sold and the revenues will be used to support the training of electricians as the process implies costs for consumables, teaching aids and bonuses for teachers and masters.

In an event held to present the system, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education Angela Kutasevich expressed her confidence that this project will be successful. “The generation of new revenues, which is a more widely used activity in technical professional education, is an advantage of this project. I hope in the immediate period we will approve an efficient normative framework for education institutions from the economic-financial perspective so that these generate own revenues and, what is more important, can offer the students the possibility of being trained and prepared for employment,” stated the official.

The Liechtenstein Development Service has supported the secondary technical professional education system in Moldova starting with 2008. The offering of financial support to the partner schools is one of the numerous activities carried out by this in the professional education system. The financial support in the past nine years came to over €2 million.
