The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Moldova staged an exhibition of photographs entitled “Silk Road – a new perspective” and the “Tempo of China” in the hall of the National Library. In the opening of the event, China’s Ambassador in Chisinau Zhang Yinghong said that by these photos the people of China want to come closer to the Moldovan people and to promote the idea of building a new Silk Road that would include Moldova, IPN reports.
The exhibition consists of 60 photos showing different Chinese towns that once created the famous silk road used by many personalities and people who wanted to enrich themselves or to know a new world. The photos represent the Chinese culture and nation and aim to present the spirit of China as a nation full of energy and vitality.
The organizers said the exhibits include works by over 100 professionals and amateurs from all over China. The pictures show spectacular landscapes, including a glorious sunrise, and the architecture of the 21st century whose energy and prosperity is depicted vividly and realistically in different colors.
Ambassador Zhang Yinghong addressed those attending the opening, saying the Silk Road earlier connected China and the European states and they now want to restore this road, but not as a commercial initiative, but as an infrastructure connection, and to create good cooperation conditions between all the states.
The diplomat added that Moldova expressed its readiness to take part in the building of a new Silk Road and China hopes that this initiative will help to establish new economic and humanitarian cooperation relations and to improve the contacts between people. Thus, China promotes cooperation in the industrial sector, in the facilitation of customs inspections and other areas.
According to Zhang Yinghong, this exhibition is an occasion for the Moldovan people to better know China, to find out about the Silk Road and to establish relations with the people of China.
The photo exhibition will continue until November 25.
