PGO suggests plan for combating cyber crime

The Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) proposed for public debates a draft plan of action for preventing and combating cyber crimes. The plan is to be approved by 11 state institutions by an interdepartmental order. Representatives of civil society, private individuals and legal entities are invited to pronounce on the document and submit proposals, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the PGO, the document will be implemented during three years and aims to adjust the national legislation to the provisions of the Council of Europe Convention on Cyber Crime. The plan’s major objectives are to improve the legal framework and to ensure the implementation of the legislation in the field.

The draft plan of action is available on the PGO’s website (www.procuratura.md), the “Information” division, the “Plans and programs of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Moldova” subdivision. Proposals and objectives can be sent to the email address v.soltan@procuratura.md.
