PGO reacts to accusations made by lawyer Vitalie Taulean

The Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) reacted to the accusations made by lawyer Vitalie Taulean in a news conference at IPN. The lawyer asked to start a criminal case against the prosecutors who deal with the death of a minor at the placement center “Vatra”. The PGO says the tactic of defense by public accusations and media pressure on prosecutors became something common, IPN reports.

“The Prosecutor General’s Office firmly reiterates the position that solutions and decisions should be adopted based on pertinent evidence, regardless of the defense and pressure generated by the accused persons and their lawyers,” the PGO says in its message.

The PGO reiterated that the manager of the center “Vatra” and an inferior are accused of the mortal carbon monoxide poisoning of a minor who was isolated in a room of the center on November 30, 2016. The 11-year-old child was found dead under the bed on which he was to sleep the next morning. The mattress of the bed caught fire, while the door of the room could not be opened from inside.
