The Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) sent applications to extradite Vlad Plahotniuc to Cyprus and Saudi Arabia, Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo announced in a press briefing, being quoted by IPN.
“Besides Turkey, the Prosecutor General’s Office made requests for the possible extradition of Mister Plahotniuc from Cyprus and Saudi Arabia. So far we have received a response only from Saudi Arabia: Plahotniuc didn’t cross its borders. We are waiting,” stated the prosecutor general.
Alexandr Stoianoglo noted that the PGO hasn’t yet received a response from the Turkish authorities to the application sent on September 29 after receiving the same day an official notification of the fact that Vlad Plahotniuc entered Turkey on September 10.
Vlad Plahotniuc was put on the wanted list after the prosecutors charged him on three counts, namely: creation and management of a criminal group, considerable swindle and substantial money laundering.
