Petru Lucinschi: We deserve living better
“We deserve living in better conditions, freer and more consistently,” Moldova’s second president Petru Lucinschi told the reporters on September 10. “Those that formed the Alliance for European Integration are well-prepared – a new generation with a new experience,” the former head of state said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
Lucinschi also said that it is not worth drawing an analogy between this coalition and the Alliance for Democracy and Reform, which fell apart. “More than 10 years have passed since then. The conditions are now different. The people are more stronger. The society is more active than the previous years,” the former president said.
In case of new early elections, Petru Luchinschi recommends holding a referendum to elect the head of state directly. “The current administration could organize a referendum early in November so that the people elect a president by the end of February or the start of March next year. The most important thing is that the AEI should be consistent.
“The people are not foolish and see what the Communists do. If they lost, they should admit defeat and act in the people’s interests,” Petru Lucinschi said.
