Petrom-Moldova has announced a large plan of upgrading its filling stations in order to rise to the European standards, according to company’s press service, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. “Petrom-Moldova will revamp most of its filling stations in Moldova as soon as possible, in order to meet the highest EU standards”, said Karoly Pozsgai, operation manager in the launch of Petrom-Moldova’s first upgraded filling station. It has the latest equipment, a fully automatic car wash, a shop, a bistro with an open air terrace and playground for kids. “We’ve invested over 1.5 million euros and we’ve raised the quality of filling stations technologies to a new level”, said Vlad Plahotniuc, vice president of Petrom-Moldova Administration Council. “Petrom-Moldova is a strategic investor in Moldova and I wish all your competitors to achieve the standard you have set”, mentioned the Ministry of Economy Valeriu Lazar. Romanian Ambassador in Moldova Marius Lazurca attended the ceremony as well. He praised two qualities of the project: European standards and the professionalism and competences of all those involved. During the re-opening of the new station, Elena Lang from Slobozia received the big prize of Petrom-Moldova promotion- fuel for a lifetime. She was selected by the LOTO computer program on September 23, 2010. The draw took place in the headquarters of Petrom-Moldova, in the presence of a notary public and a commission of 7 persons. According to the press release, the new station is a model of modern European petrol station which combines an advanced design with the latest equipment, besides the aforementioned facilities. Company’s activity began in 2000, when Petrom Romania acquired a gas station in Moldova. In 2001, a commercial center of distributing oil product was opened in Chisinau. Afterward, Petrom-Moldova implemented a policy of massive expansion in all the regions of Moldova. It is currently one of the biggest oil companies in Moldova and member of OMV-PETROM, European leader in this domain.
