The encounter between Petrocub and Sheriff, of the first qualifying round of Moldova’s Football Cup, was suspended in the 29th minute owing to the heavy rain, when the score was 0-0. Under the regulations, the game is to be resumed the next day and will be thus played in Hâncești on June 22, starting at 8pm, IPN reports.
Update /10:32am/ The match will be played on Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau.
In the other semifinal, Sfântul Gheorghe beat Speranța 5-2 and is to compete in the final on Zimbru Stadium for the second consecutive year. Alexandru Suvorov scored two goals and was the hero of the hosts. The other goals were scored by Volkov, Novicov, Iurcu and, respectively, Trofan and Pîsla.
“It looks as if Sfântul Gheorghe hadn’t stayed in quarantine. They looked rather fresh,” stated the coach of Speranța Iurie Osipenko.
