Petrocub defeated Zimbru 2-1 for the second time in the history of Zimbru and remains eight points behind Milsami. Also, the team from Hancesti is now seven points ahead of the fourth-ranked Speranta, IPN reports.

Ivanov opened the score in the 39th minute, while Zimbru tied in the last minute of the first half through Stina. After the pause, Ambros scored the victory goal for Petrocub, in the 51st minute.

“It was a match where the players were to show character and they managed to do this. The newly signed players have been for only two days with us and I’m sure they will help. I thank Jessie for deciding to continue to play for Petrocub. We are a united family. I also thank those who support us,” Petrocub coach Lilian Popescu stated in a news conference.

The other matches of the 14th stage ended as follows: Milsami – Dinamo-Auto 4-0, Sfintul Gheorghe – Speranta 2-2 and Sheriff – Zaria 5-1. The next stage will take place on August 4.
