The members of the Petrenco group will stay under judicial supervision another 30 days. The decision was taken by the Rascani Court of Chisinau on June 6. The court also extended the ban on leaving Chisinau and Moldova imposed on these, IPN reports.
Ex-MP Grigore Petrenco said that by this decision their fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution are violated. “How can a person be banned from working? I don’t think there were similar cases,” he stated. According to him, the judicial supervision was to expire on May 26.
The members of the Petrenco group were arrested on September 6, 2015 following a protest with altercations staged in front of the Prosecutor General’s Office. The protesters demanded to hold politician Vlad Plahotniuc accountable for his wrongdoings. According to the police, the protesters tried to enter by force the institution, but were prevented by police officers. Metallic chains and locks were found in their rucksacks.
