With the first stage of a  pest control effort already completed in residential buildings across Chisinau, the municipal authorities have recently launched the second stage, targeting fleas in particular. 

Contacted by IPN, the head Amenities and Sanitation Division Vasile Efros said that around 2,500 apartment blocks were serviced by the first stage, with some buildings visited more than once at the request of homeowners or tenants.

The second phase of the pest control effort is planned to be completed by the end of the summer. However, the public will be able to request additional intervention until October where necessary.

The municipality has allocated almost 2 million lei for the extermination of rats and other pests.
