Under a decision made by the Ministry of Health, from Sunday the ambulance doctors will start the treatment of the persons experiencing pandemic flu-like symptoms and will write prescriptions that will be analyzed by family doctors, the acting head of the Health Division Luminita Suveica said at Monday's meeting of the Chisinau services and divisions, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Luminita Suveica, the family doctors last week recorded 22,000 cases of acute viral infections, about 10% of which were cases of flu. 30% of the persons suspected of having pandemic flu have been hospitalized, while 70% are treated at home. There are 529 such patients in the Chisinau hospitals at present. The family doctors have enough Tamiflu drugs, Luminita Suveica said. She also said that now there is only one person in a serious condition – the head of a section of the Family Doctors Association No. 12 in Posta Veche quarter. She was admitted to the National Hospital with pandemic flu and pneumonia on December 1.
