The persons with a monthly income lower than 3,000 lei during the past calendar year can benefit from cold-month allowances in the 2016 – 2017 heating season. A decision to this effect was taken by the Chisinau Municipal Council, IPN reports.
Those who got such allowances in the 2015 – 2016 cold season must submit confirming applications by which to show that the monthly income is lower than 3,000 lei for a family member. The persons who didn’t benefit from allowances must file a standard application for cold-month allowances for socially deprived categories of people.
The cold-month allowance represents 40% of the monthly bill for heat supplied in a centralized way. For families that heat the home with gas, wood or coal, the allowance is 450 lei, while for single pensioners is 900 lei.
The applications for cold-month allowances are submitted to municipal housing stock managing companies, housing stock managers or the Ciocana district head’s office, in the case of the people who live in this district. The inhabitants of the towns, villages and communes that form part of Chisinau municipality lodge the application with the local mayor’s office. This must be accompanied by copies of a number of papers, including the certificate on the pension or salary for the past 12 months.
