Persons with debts for water risk remaining without assets
Jurists of SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” (ACC) have stepped up the debt recovering process. Those who have debts for water risk remaining without possessions and without water and with a ban from living the country, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the water supplier, the owner of a Chisinau restaurant may remain without furniture for a debt of 27,000 lei. A bailiff and the ACC jurists assessed the restaurant’s assets and sequestrated 100 chairs, 22 tables, several decorative lamps and two stuffed animals. The measure was taken as the owner hadn’t paid for the used water for two years.
The restaurant owner was given ten days to pay the bill. If he doesn’t settle the debt, the confiscated objects will be auctioned.
ACC jurist Valeriu Surdu said that the restaurant’s owner was warned in spring to pay the debt. In May, the court obliged him to clear the debt. He didn’t comply yet and was disconnected from the water supply a month ago.
The water supplier said that 64 economic entities are in a similar situation and risk losing their assets under court orders. Almost 300 consumers, including private individuals, may also remain without possessions because of their debts.
