Persons selling near markets will not be driven away
The Chisinau City Hall has announced that over 100 places for selling dairy products are now available at the agrifood markets in Chisinau, including the Central Market. In Monday's meeting of the City Hall, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said steps should be taken to convince the people to sell their goods in authorized places. At the same time, the mayor banned the police and market employees from chasing away the persons who come to Chisinau to sell a bucket of fruit, vegetables, young trees and plants or dairy products, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“No repressive measures should be taken against these persons. We should persuade them to go and sell in the market not near it,” Dorin Chirtoaca said, asking that free places be set up in the 27 agricultural markets of Chisinau for the farmers who come to sell their products.
Deputy mayor Mihai Furtuna said the market administrators set low taxes in order to make the people sell in authorized places. Furthermore, the sellers in the market enjoy the necessary conditions and the quality of the sold products can be checked there.
The local authorities remind that the farmers markets started work and the farmers there can sell the products directly from motor vehicles without authorizations and taxes.
