Persons at increased risk of infection will get free flu shots
Today the Ministry of Health has 18,000 doses of anti-influenza vaccines procured with help of the World Bank. Other 140,000 doses will be purchased by the National Health Insurance Company.
The press unit of the Health Ministry told Info-Prim Neo that the price of the vaccine will be known after a tender contest.
According to the same sources, flu shots are given free of charge to health professionals, to the staff of the Health Ministry, of the National Health Insurance Company, teachers and residents of the State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “Nicolae Testemitanu”, as well as to the staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and practicing and resident veterinarians.
The list of recipients also includes social assistants, reporters, public officials and rescue crews, children in residential schools, persons with chronic diseases and at increased risk of suffering post-flu complications.
In 2006 nearly 92,000 persons at increased risk of infection got free flu shots.
