Personal exhibition of Mihai Tarus set up at National Art Museum

The personal exhibition of painter Mihai Tarus was inaugurated at the National Art Museum of Moldova in Chisinau. The exhibit includes over 50 paintings and drawings, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Tudor Braga, the director of the exhibition center “Constantin Brancusi”, the author of the works focused on the theme featured by the Renaissance artists. The entity “Time” is presented as a formula in compressed expression. To give plasticity, the author uses the possibilities of colors and decomposes the image into component parts, Tudor Braga said. The exhibition will be open to the public until September 24, 2008. Born in Sinesti village of Ungheni district, Mihai Tarus graduated from the Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg. He made his debut in Saint Petersburg in 1981. Since then, he has exhibited his works in such countries as Moldova, Russia, Romania, Finland, France, Japan, Austria, Italy and Belgium. In 1999, Mihai Tarus became Master of Arts of Moldova. The artist’s works have been permanently on display at representative group exhibitions organized at the Nevski Palace of Culture in Saint Petersburg (1975), Tretyakov Gallery, Contemporary Paintings in Memory of Malevici (1991), Neuhoff Gallery, New York Paintings from Russia (1995), Galleries of the Romanian Parliament, Sacred in Art (1997) and others.
