The Person of the Year prize awarded recently to Prime Minister Vlad Filat is not a money prize, it is said in a communiqué from the Government’s Press Office, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
“Following the appearance of information that the Person of the Year prize given to Premier Vlad Filat at the Krynica Forum on September 7 includes a money award, we specify that the Person of the Year is a symbolic prize consisting of a statuette and a certificate conferred yearly for remarkable accomplishments that had a significant influence in Central and Eastern Europe. It is not a money prize,” says the communiqué.
In a news conference on September 9, the chairman of the Public Association “Moldova Mea” Fiodor Ghelici urged Prime Minister Vlad Filat to use the money value of the given prize to purchase equipment for performing operations on children suffering from spine problems.
