A permanent checkpoint is now available at the Costești customs post. To avoid the formation of rows near the Costești customs post, carriers will be able to stop near the checkpoint. The export of highly perishable goods will be facilitated and prioritized there, IPN reports.
The National Food Safety Agency said that an increasing volume of perishable Moldovan fruit is exported in the period. Alongside the use of the markings “Perishable. Priority Transport” and the informing of carriers about their efficient application, as a result of discussions with the National Sanitary Veterinary Authority and also with the National Phytosanitary Authority of Romania, it was agreed to enable such transport to go through the Costești – Stânca state border crossing point.
The transit of non-animal perishable goods going to other states than the EU member states is permitted through this border crossing point that works from 8am until 8pm.
