Cinematographic projects can be presented for taking part in a competition is the period between October 1 and 15. The projects filed after the deadline will not be admitted. The Cabinet approved relevant amendments to the regulations concerning the financing of cinematography in its December 5 meeting, IPN reports
The proposal to amend the regulations was submitted by the Council of the National Cinematography Center given a practical necessity identified during the first two years of financing of cinematographic projects. It was determined that about three months are needed for the technical secretariat to perform its work, for assessing scrips and for announcing the results.
Until now the regulations stipulated the period of January 15-31 and the financial resources could be transferred to the accounts of the beneficiaries only in April. This delayed by four months the launch of film production. As the used money should be reported by December 31 of each year, the obtaining of financing by film production companies in April didn’t match the production plan.
