A Perinatology Center was inaugurated in Hancesti town. It forms part of a project to renovate the maternity block that was initiated in 2013. The works were performed with money provided by the National Health Insurance Company and the Hancesti District Council, IPN reports.
The District Council contributed 7 million lei, while the National Health Insurance Company - 26 million lei.
The extensive renovation of the block allowed extending the range of medical services provided. The center includes pediatric, gynecology and blood transfusion sections and a lab. It was outfitted with modern equipment and incubators designed to increase the survival chances of newborns weighing less than the norm or babies born prematurely.
