People’s Will Party submits list of candidates for MP to CEC

The People’s Will Party on January 17 filed the documents required for being registered as an electoral contender in the February 24, 2019 elections to the Central Election Commission. The list of candidates for MP in the national constituency consists of 35 persons, IPN reports.

The party’s president Ștefan Urîtu told the press that those who were put on the list are the best candidates who were chosen carefully. They include young people and older people ‘who walked through fire’.

According to Ștefan Urîtu, the party decided to take part in the elections in order to help Moldova overcome the current situation. “We will become involved in this struggle in order to change the state of affairs and to ensure the rule of law in the Republic of Moldova,” he stated.

The People’s Will Party will not have candidates in single-member constituencies.

Under the Election Code, the CEC has seven days to register or refuse to register the fielded candidates.

Six parties have been registered so far as contenders in the national constituency. These are: the Democratic Party, the electoral bloc ACUM, the Party of Communists, the Party of Socialists, the Shor Party and the People’s Movement “Antimafie”. The document filed by the Political Party “Our Party” (PPPN) on January 16 are being examined.
