Ecaterina Burlacu is the new people’s ombudswoman for child rights protection. Parliament on July 3 confirmed her to post for a seven-year period by 70 votes in favor, IPN reports.
Anatolie Zagorodnyi, who heads the special commission for selecting candidates for the post of people’s ombudsperson for child rights protection, said that as a result of the contest the commission selected Eugen Rusu and Ecaterinei Burlacu. Maia Banarescu also ran for this post, but she didn’t present herself at the public interview.
Ecaterina Burlacu until recently held the post of senior consultant in the Private Law Section of the General Legal Division of the Parliament’s Secretariat.
