People’s Assembly deputy intends to initiate dismissal of Bashkan

The member of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia Ivan Burgundji plans to commence the procedure for dismissing Bashkan (Governor) Mihail Formuzal because he has violated the law for many years, IPN reports.

In a news conference in Chisinau on March 22, Ivan Burgundji said that Mihail Formuzal repeatedly broke the legislation of the autonomous territorial unit and should have been discharged for every separate case. He called on the Bashkan to obey the law or he will initiate the procedure for giving a vote of no confidence to him.

The deputy told the journalists that in the last meeting of the People’s Assembly he asked creating a commission that will investigate all the cases when the Governor broke the law. According to Ivan Burgundji, his request was supported by 25 of the 35 members of the local legislature.

A vote of no confidence to the Bashkan is passed by at least 24 votes. Ivan Burgundji said that he forms part of no party and was elected on the list of independent candidates.
