The people are encouraged to report possible dangers or sources of explosion, including gas cylinders, they notice in public places in Chisinau at the municipal Central Dispatcher’s Office on 022 22 22 67. Such an initiative was put forward by Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca following a gas cylinder blast that happened at a café near the Central Market, IPN reports.
“We call the 901 service when the fire already stated. When we see a source that can cause a fire owing to the carelessness of an economic entity, the Central Dispatcher’s Office should be informed about this so that it later notified the responsible subdivision,” the mayor said in a meeting on January 11.
Dorin Chirtoaca noted that the municipal Central Dispatcher’s Office will work nonstop, not only on workdays, between 8am and 5pm, as now. “We must remove the ‘bombs’ from public places. We will yet decide how to act in relation to household users,” he stated.
About 20 persons suffered burns when a gas cylinder exploded in a café in central Chisinau on January 9. Thirteen persons remain hospitalized. Three of the patients, who were in a serious state, were taken to Bucharest for treatment.
