People who would not fully obey foreign forces, either from the East or from the West, and who would protect the interests of the state should come to power, said experts invited to the talk show “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel, IPN reports.
Journalist Irina Astahova said these people should be responsible and should not be dependent on foreign forces and should think about the country’s future. The Government turns into the only profitable business in the country and the people come to government for a short period of time and are not motivated to make effort to change things. “The people come to power not to change the situation, but to secure their future,” stated Irina Astahova.
Analyst Victor Ciobanu said the government is not preoccupied with the development of the economy. All the state-run enterprises should be withdrawn from the Ministry of Economy so that this deals with economic development strategies. “Such a situation hasn’t been witnessed in Moldova since the declaration of independence. The Parliament is no longer a Parliament, the Government is no longer a Government and the prosecution service is no longer a prosecution service,” noted Victor Ciobanu.
Ex-MP Victor Stepaniuc wondered if the Republic of Moldova in the current conditions has a future and if other elites can be formed. “We indeed have poor elites as these do not want to take into account the reality and do not want to learn,” he stated, noting that the population is also to blame for this situation as it chose these elites.
