People submit proposals for new government program

February 3 was the deadline by which the people could submit proposals concerning the Government’s work program for publication on the executive’s website. The people mainly asked improving the quality of life, eliminating corruption and bureaucracy and raising the minimum salary for covering the daily costs. The people say they want to remain to work in the country and ask stimulating the economic growth for starting or running a business, IPN reports.

The people proposed eliminating the taxes for setting up small and medium-sized companies at least for the first two years of activity, investing more in education, which is the most important instrument for developing a nation, laying off 80% of the employees of the central administration, restructuring the state institutions, and employing European specialists in a number of areas, including the prosecution service, justice and medicine.

The diaspora also put forward proposals. The head of the Moldovan community in Arizona wrote that the heads of the diaspora organizations make a lot of effort to keep the Moldovan unity in the communities and to promote Moldova’s image abroad. That’s why it would be fair for these to be remunerated annually.

Other persons from the diaspora suggest signing social agreements between Moldova and the countries hosting Moldovan migrants, instituting private and optional pensions systems, digitizing the civil status documents, improving the conditions for teaching Romanian in the diaspora, better informing the people about the investment opportunities in the country.

Acting Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, who was designated as a candidate for premiership, initiated consultations for collecting proposals for formulating the new government program last week.
