The people must boycott the meeting scheduled by the Communist Party (PCRM) for November 7, considers the leader of the Civic Union for Direct Democracy. In a news conference at IPN, Ruslan Popa said the people should in general boycott the mass events organized by political parties as they have only one goal – to divide society and to create tensions.
According to Ruslan Popa, the Communists lost credibility on the political arena of Moldova. The party’s leader Vladimir Voronin no longer holds control. He is only a symbolic figure, while the party is managed from behind by Mark Tkachuk, who constrained many members to leave the PCRM after imposing his rules.
Ruslan Popa also said that the last actions taken by the Communists amuse the people. The PCRM betrayed its voters by the lack of action on April 7, 2009. “Being then in power, the Communists could have stopped that destruction, but they didn’t. As a result, the Parliament Building and the Government Building were seriously damaged,” he stated.
The Civic Union for Direct Democracy does not recommend voting for the PCRM because it is a party of bourgeois. All its members have large possessions, including luxury cars and houses and businesses valued at millions of lei.
The PCRM is accused of not fulfilling the promises made before the elections. While in power, it pursued a police aimed against the state. The schools have taught the Romanian language and the Romanian history, not the Moldovan language and the history of the Moldovan people, said Ruslan Popa.
The Civic Union for Direct Democracy is holding a series of news conferences where it explains to the people why they shouldn’t vote for the political parties in general and for each candidate separately. In other conferences, the Union’s leader presented reasons why the people should not vote for the PLDM, PDM and PL.
