The people formed long lines stretching along several streets to receive a vaccine against COVID-19 at the Palace of the Republic in central Chisinau as part of the Vaccination Marathon. Nearby, water trucks splash water on the streets to reduce the heat. Waiting places were set up at the intersection of the streets N. Iorga and București. Police officers are maintaining public order in the area, IPN reports.
The Vaccination Marathon was to start at 7am, but began earlier as there were already many people waiting there According to the organizers, a part of those people have stayed there since yesterday evening.
The Chisinau City Hall said it provided drinking water, chairs and tents for those waiting in lines. Ecological toilets are available nearby.
Vaccination is possible without preregistration, with the identity card only, until 10pm. The people can choose from among four types of vaccine: AstraZeneca, Sputnik-V, Sinovac and Sinopharm.
