People doing jobs in special conditions will retire earlier

The persons who worked for at least ten years in special conditions will be able to retire five years before the standard retirement age. Those who worked for 15 years in special conditions could retire seven years and a half earlier, for 20 years and more – 10 years earlier. The provisions are contained in the law to modify the public pension system that was published in the January 5 issue of the Official Gazette, IPN reports.

The list of jobs for which old-age pension is provided in advantageous conditions is to be approved by the Government. The draft decision was published on particip.gov.md. This says that the right to early retirement will belong to persons who work in basements or under the water, make cement, glass and glass articles, process metals and deal with lead, work in the electro-technical, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, locksmiths who repair rolling stock and welders, medical personnel working in nuclear and radiological medicine labs and sections, doctors of angiography and Roentgen offices, and others.

The list includes 64 positions and a total of 1,684 types of jobs done in special conditions.

According to the National House of Social Insurance, 164 persons retired earlier under such conditions in 2014-2016.

In Moldova, the standard retirement age, according to the pension system reform applied since January 1, 2017 is of 63 years both for men and women, with a confirmed insurance period of 34 years. The standard retirement age of 63 years for men will be reached on July 1, 2019, while for women on July 1, 2028. This age will be reached by annually increasing the standard regiment age for men by four months and for women by six months.
