People continue to take aid to collection centers in Chisinau
Chisinau residents and companies donated pasta, cans, tea, mineral water, oil, footwear and personal hygiene objects for flood victims, the secretary of the Chisinau Municipal Council Valeriu Didencu said at Monday's meeting of the City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports.
On Saturday and Sunday, 123 residents of Chisinau and a number of economic entities brought aid for the victims of floods at the City Hall. Two trucks took provisions to the flood-hit areas on Sunday, July 11.
Parcels were prepared at district heads' offices to be loaded onto trucks and taken to the destination. Companies working in Ciocana district intend to transfer money to the bank accounts opened for flood victims. One of them offered to lodge a family. 4 tonnes of food products were collected at the Rascani district head's office.
Apa-Canal Chisinau director Constantin Becciev said the company on Sunday sent three tanks with
drinking water to the flood-stricken areas. The water supplier's employees collected 300,000 lei in aid for the persons affected by floods.
The head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Tatiana Nagnibeda said the Chisinau schools collect aid for the children from the affected areas. Many of these children have been accommodated at summer camps.
Chisinau police chief Silviu Musuc said the employees of the Ministry of the Interior and the General Police Commissariat will donate the salary for two workdays to flood victims.
Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca instructed to attentively monitor the situation so that the aid reaches the flood victims. He said the City Hall will also provide financial aid for the victims.
