People can go to cemetery to look after graves, but cannot stage commemoration meals there

The people can go to cemeteries to take care of graves, but must not come in contact with other people and cannot hold commemoration meals there. It is preferable for one family member to go to the cemetery on a workday, Alina Zbancă, adviser to the minister of home affairs, said when she was asked by IPN to explain if the ban on presence in public places refers also to cemeteries.

The March 26 decision by the Commission for Exceptional Situations obliges the persons who are outside the domicile to have an identity card on themselves. Alina Zbancă specified that the persons will not be fined if they go to the shop or the drugstore without papers.

Fines of 22,500 to 25,000 lei will be imposed on persons who do not obey the ban on presence in parks, forests, playgrounds, sports grounds and recreation areas. The person is not fined while on the street, but groups larger than three persons, except for groups consisting of family members, are not allowed.

Those who violated the quarantine regime are also liable to fines. More than 22,000 persons are now self-isolating at home under the supervision of the authorities. These are persons who returned home from abroad or who had been on contact with someone who was confirmed with COVID-19 and with people discharged from the hospital. If these persons leave their home, they will be fined.

Related fines totaling about 25 million lei have been imposed in Moldova since March 17.
