On April 1, the pensions will be indexed by 6.6%, IPN reports, with reference to a Government decision approved on March 21. As a result of the indexation, the average old-age pension will rise by 96 lei. The disability pensions will increase by 75 lei on average, while the successor pensions by 50 lei.

The minimum old-age pension will be equal to the monthly guaranteed minimum income that is set annually. For 2018, this is 1,025 lei.

In the case of severe disability, the lowest pension will be 768 lei, of accentuated disability – 717 lei, while of medium disability – 512 lei. If the calculated disability pension is lower than these sums, the difference will be paid from the state budget.

Over 553.6 million lei is needed for indexing the social benefits.
